Spaces are being designed to reflect a shift towards student centred learning, creating dynamic, more flexible and technologically-rich learning environments. However, the disconnect between stakeholders involved in creating these active learning spaces and the uncertainty related to what is best in different contexts, remains an issue of concern, raising academic debate of whether or not investment in designing new collaborative learning spaces are delivering value for money.
Designing new learning environments are not enough if measuring and evaluating are not part of the process.
How confident are you that you are maximising your design and techniques?
IQPC’s New Generation Learning Spaces 2012 will bring universities and architects together to examine, discuss and reflect best practice in existing projects.
Not only will this event meet the demands and challenges of practitioners new to designing active learning spaces, it will also deliver in-depth prognoses and strategies for mature practitioners. Take a look at our unique conference format and pick and choose what works for you. You will have the opportunity to engage in facilitated dialogue with fellow participants, share learning, explore concepts and related issues, process experiences, network and brainstorm practical applications and collaboration.
Site Visit: Creating an Effective Student Learning Hub – Developing the Eastern Precinct For the first time the key design architect, Patrick Ness, will be speaking publicly about the Eastern Precinct Student Centre at the University of Melbourne, an admired project from around the country and internationally. Participants will have the opportunity to explore all areas of the project and to engage in a full discussion with the principal project designers, about the approach and key ideas which drove the design as well as a tour of the actual site.
Is this event relevant to me?
The summit will bring together leaders & associated parties directly involved with the design process for effective learning from academics, architects, consultants, as well as technology providers and facility managers.
Whether you are new or have been involved with a few projects, this year’s summit will include workshops, debates, and roundtable discussions to ensure a collaborative approach to understanding these new active learning spaces.
THERE WILL BE MORE INTERACTIVE SESSIONS AND OPEN DISCUSSIONS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMIT PROMOTING ENGAGEMENT ON THE MOST PERTINENT ISSUES AND CHALLENGES COMMON AMONG ALL ATTENDEES!
